Team Leader

Location: Rotherham
Rate of Pay: £18.00 per hour (weekly or monthly pay available)

Shift Pattern: 35 hours on shift, nights and days and 12 hours admin
Contract: 1 x 36-hour contract.

We are seeking an experienced, caring, and confident Team Leader to lead a small, consistent 2:1 support team providing person-centred care for an adult male living independently in his own home. The individual has a brain injury and is a wheelchair user, requiring full personal care and safe moving and handling support, including hoisting.

As Team Leader, you will play a key role in coordinating care, providing hands-on support, overseeing staff performance, and ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance are maintained. You will lead by example, promoting consistency, dignity and independence while building a positive and stable team environment.

The individual communicates his needs clearly and has capacity, although he may become verbally frustrated if routines change. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a calm, patient approach are essential to effectively support both the individual and the wider team. Through proactive leadership and person-centred practice, you will help him maintain his independence, access meaningful activities, and confidently engage in his local community.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader or Senior Support Worker role.
  • Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex care needs.
  • Competence in moving and handling, including hoisting procedures.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage documentation, care plans, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support and promoting independence.

Experience and Skills Required of a Team Leader

  • Proven leadership experience within a healthcare or complex care setting
  • Experience managing and supporting a small care team.
  • Strong background supporting individuals with complex clinical needs.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments, care planning, and regulatory compliance
  • Previous experience completing healthcare-related administrative duties.
  • Kind, patient, caring, reliable, confident, and professionally consistent.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual communication and care needs.
  • Comfortable engaging in sensory, creative, and play-based activities as part of holistic care
  • Confident working within a family home healthcare environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
