Job Requirements/Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of the Neurosurgery Department as a Band 3 Senior Clerical Officer.

The position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

To provide leadership and line management to the Neurosurgery outpatient administrative team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and patient-focused service.

The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative processes, staff and clinic coordination, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and national access targets, including RTT. The role requires independent decision-making, problem-solving and the ability to respond dynamically to service pressures.

Supervise the outpatient administrative team, providing day-to-day operational leadership and support.

Allocate and prioritise workloads across the team to meet operational demands and deadlines.

Support workforce management including annual leave, sickness absence and return to work processes in line with STH Trust policy.

Support team members through service changes, including implementation of and transition to new processes, ensuring new ways of working are communicated clearly, adopted consistently and embedded across the team.

Support Clerical Officers with escalated operational or patient related issues; providing guidance, resolution and onward escalation where necessary.
