Autism Support Worker - Schools

Engage Education are currently working with a thriving special school in Bradford who are urgently seeking a candidate from a Support Work/Residential background to work in a Special Needs Teaching Assistant capacity to support their primary, secondary and post 16 aged pupils with Autism and Communication Issues. This is a Monday - Friday term time only position that would require the successful candidate to work 08:20 - 15:20.

• To support the Class Teacher to prepare resources and deliver lessons
• Work with all pupils in class to manage behaviours associated with their autism
• Provide a fun and engaging learning environment
• Adhere to all school policies

We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with people with severe ASC that is enthusiastic about raising the attainment of their pupils.

You will ideally have experience in supporting children or adults with Autism in a residential or supported living capacity. We also welcome applications from people that have worked in schools previously in a similar role. By being proactive and taking initiative, you are going to be able to build relationships with students and gain knowledge of a wide variety of needs.
