We are looking for highly motivated, Registered Nursing Associates to join our team and provide care and expertise within our service. Bradford Neonatal service as part of the 9 cot Transitional Care Unit team providing care for both infants born locally and those from across the wider Yorkshire & Humber region requiring specialist high quality support.

We have had a number of recent successes in developing a large education team, perinatal palliative care support and specialist infant feeding nurses so now is a really exciting time to be part of team Bradford. There are other specialist roles also in the pipeline that will significantly boost quality and help any successful candidate to provide the level of care that all professionals in the field aspire to achieve.

The jobholder will work within the Neonatal Service as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role will be concerned with supporting the Registered Nurses to manage their workload and ensure a safe and equitable service is provided to all patients and families. As a registrant you will be responsible for taking an appropriate workload as defined by the nurse in charge.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous recent experience of working within healthcare delivering personal and clinical care(essential)
  • Experience of interacting with Children and Young People in any setting.
  • Experience of working with/supporting families

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with babies of neonates
  • Experience supervising staff and supporting other learners in practice A1 assessor or equivalent

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Excellent computer skills particularly the ability to use Word/Power point, and an aptitude to learn new systems in order to access patient records. E.g. SystmOne/EPR
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the use of e-mails
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Ability to accept delegation and work without direct supervision

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Understanding of roles and responsibilities of post
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Nursing Associate Foundation Degree, and GCSE’s Grade A - C. including English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nursing Associate or due to qualify in the next 3 months from job advert release date.
