Operations Manager
Inspire Resourcing are currently recruiting an Operations Manager on behalf of our client in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading manufacturer, with exciting projects & a great team.
Duties:
- Leading the Production, Quality/Health/Safety/Environmental and Purchasing teams
- Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimising resource utilisation and minimising costs
- Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including raw materials, equipment, personnel, and capital, to ensure efficient production
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality
- Quality Control: Ensure products meet quality standards through implementation and monitoring of quality control procedures.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment
- Personnel Management: Recruit, train, and supervise production personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles
- Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and optimisation
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to minimise costs and ensure timely availability of materials
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
- Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operations
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or a related field. Alternatively, sufficient experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management
- Experience of implementing lean manufacturing principles and a culture of continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing software and systems (ERP / MRP)
Salary, Circa 55k DOE
