The Role
As Director of Learning - Science, you will:
- Lead curriculum innovation and teaching excellence across KS3 and KS4
- Drive student progress and attainment in science
- Line manage and develop a team of passionate science educators
- Build links with feeder primary schools to ensure curriculum continuity
- Champion STEM enrichment through clubs, competitions, and outreach
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic improvement
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE or equivalent)
- Proven success in raising achievement in secondary science
- Experience in middle or senior leadership
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and data analysis
- Passion for inclusive education and community engagement
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Desirable
- NPQML / NPQSL or Masters-level qualification
- Experience in more than one school, ideally one rated "Good" or better
- SENCO, DSL, or pastoral leadership experience
