FLT Side Loader Operator

Salary: £12.75 - £13.75 per hour, depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: AM Shift 40 Hours (Mon-Fri 06:00-14:30), PM Shift 40 Hours (Mon-Thu 11:00-21:00) with PM Shift allowance

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious FLT Side Loader Operator to join our client in Bradford. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating side loader forklifts to move, load, and unload long or bulky materials in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring smooth operations in our warehouse and yard.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Operate side loader forklift trucks to transport materials within the warehouse or yard.
• Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles.
• Stack and store products in designated areas.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and report any faults or issues.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movement and inventory.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse and logistics teams to meet operational targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid FLT Side Loader license (e.g., ITSSAR, RTITB or equivalent).
• Proven experience operating side loader forklifts.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to handle long or awkward loads safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.

Desirable:

• Experience working in timber, steel, or building materials industries.
• Additional forklift licenses (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
• Basic IT skills for stock recording.
