We are looking for an ambitious Senior News and PR Officer to join our team, to support the delivery of a focused, strategic approach to external communications to help build a strong and confident University reputation based on areas of strength.
You'll have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders across the University and externally with key national and regional media outlets requiring the ability to build effective relationships, with the confidence to influence and advise.
You will have experience of planning, creating and delivering successful media and public relations activities that align to strategic objectives and an ability to distil complex information for a non-specialist audience.
You will have the confidence and expertise to provide dedicated communications support to senior leaders and internal/ external stakeholders, including seeking out proactive opportunities to promote the University and supporting on reputation management to effectively safeguard the University’s reputation.
Proficiency in the use of a range of marketing and communication channels and content creation tools, including social media, digital media, web and print, is essential.
You should have a good understanding of, and interest in, higher education and current affairs as well as an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
