Deputy Manager Children's Residential Home

Salary: £37,000 - £39,000 (dependent on experience) £3,600 for sleep-ins

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Shift pattern: On-shift position, 2 on / 4 off rota basis

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home. You will take responsibility in their absence, lead and supervise the care team, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a child-centred, therapeutic approach.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding practice, and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the care team, providing coaching, support, and performance management.
• Ensure care plans are implemented, monitored, and regularly reviewed.
• Promote education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence for children.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, Ofsted regulations, and internal policies.
• Take part in rota planning, audits, inspections, and on-call responsibilities.
• Contribute to a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming home environment.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' experience in children's residential care.
• Experience of supervising or leading staff.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and regulation compliance.
• Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to lead by example.
• A valid driving licence.
