Are you a caring, experienced professional looking to grow your career in adult social care? We’d love to welcome you to our Learning Disabilities Team at Sheffield City Council, where you’ll play a vital role in helping adults with learning disabilities live with independence, dignity, and safety.
As a Senior Provider Service Worker, you’ll be part of a supportive and passionate team that puts people first. You’ll participate in person-centred support planning, deliver meaningful programmes, and provide hands-on care to individuals with complex needs, helping to shape a positive and inclusive care environment. Flexibility is key with occasional on-call duties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Participating in assessments, support plans, and risk management.
- Delivering individual and group programmes that promote independence and choice.
- Providing direct care and acting as a key worker for people with complex needs.
- Supporting and mentoring Provider Service Workers.
- Working closely with families, professionals, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Assisting managers with audits, communication, and informal supervision.
- Ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding are met.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or complex needs.
- Confidence in supporting a team.
- A strong understanding of dignity, inclusion, and equality in care.
- Comfortable using IT systems and working collaboratively.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
- A commitment to learning, development, and reflective practice.
