Elevation Recruitment Group is working on behalf of a Bradford-based manufacturer to recruit a skilled CNC Machinist. This role is due to expansion within their machine shop and is ideal for someone with experience programming, setting, and operating CNC Twin Spindle / Twin Turret Lathes.CNC Machinist - Programmer / Setter / OperatorLocation: BradfordSalary: £32,000 - £35,000 (DOE)Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 - 16:45
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate CNC Twin Spindle / Twin Turret Lathes
- Complete machine setup: tooling, loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing fixtures
- Use SolidCAM software for programming
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances ( 0.01mm) using materials such as mild steel, brass, and aluminium
- Work from route cards and engineering drawings
- Ensure parts are produced to schedule and quality standards
- Oversee the full manufacturing process - from programming to inspection to despatch
- Operate other machines as required
- Maintain high standards of health and safety
- Mentor and train other members of staff
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent relevant qualification
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Confident in setting and operating Twin Spindle / Twin Turret Lathes and sliding head turning machines
- Able to program both on and off machine
- Proficient in SolidCAM and Fanuc controls
- Able to inspect own work
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor others
